PDF to Adobe InDesign
Example conversion
One of my clients “misplaced” (it happens!) InDesign-based user guides (greater than 100 pages consisting of 12 different language sections) needed to be reverse-engineered. The following before/after shows the results. Although it would have been easier to match the original layout, the client wanted to reduce the number of pages by applying a similar, but more compressed style definitions and page layout.
InDesign PDF open feature doesn’t work very well in this transformation. We had other existing InDesign documentation with proper text and object style settings to model the coversion.
